Screen Space Vertex Snapping [Blender 4.5]
Emulates the screen space vertex snapping effect of the Playstation 1 in Blender!
At that time, due to hardware limitations, vertices were calculated using fixed-point math with limited precision, causing them to "snap" to discrete pixel positions on screen rather than smoothly interpolating between frames. This created a wobbly, jittery polygon look that many of us remember from classic 3D games.
It's super easy to use, just add it to your asset library and it will be available as a modifier. I tried to make it as authentic as possible, and it plays nice with animations and camera movement.
Currently only compatible with Blender 4.5 LTS due to the inclusion of the Camera Info node. I do not have plans to develop a version of this for previous releases of blender.
